✨The unsung heroes protecting the coast - Kaohsiung Coast Guard Volunteer Team✨
Taiwan is surrounded by the sea🌊, and the ocean is one of the living environments we come into contact with most🌴. In Kaohsiung, there is a group of enthusiastic coastal patrol volunteers who silently contribute, uphold the passion to protect the environment 💖, are not afraid of the sea breeze and sunshine 🌞, and invest a lot of time and energy to maintain this beautiful coast ⛱️.
Kaohsiung City currently has 12 volunteer coast guard teams guarding nearly 63 kilometers of coastline⛱️. 530 people were mobilized, and the cumulative patrol hours were nearly 1,060 hours. In addition to the fixed patrol work, there were 10 teams that spontaneously carried out beach cleaning activities 👍. As of the end of April this year, volunteers actively picked up various plastic products 🥤, fishing gear and domestic garbage 📦 on the beach, and cleaned up nearly 2,000 kilograms of garbage 🚮 in total, and reported 5 dirty places. Through continuous and unremitting efforts, the Coast Guard volunteers not only maintain a clean environment and natural ecology🐟, but also provide the public with a cleaner and more comfortable resting space🌿.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to these hard-working coastal patrol volunteers who have demonstrated the spirit of environmental protection with their practical actions. We welcome all enthusiastic citizens or groups to join us 🙋♀️ and jointly protect Kaohsiung's beautiful coastline 🌈.
