On the afternoon of the 15th, the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government held a "Protect the Environment 🌏 With You and Me 👫" mountain cleaning activity at the newly built Chaishan Hiking Trail Parking Lot 🅿️ in Gushan (the former site of Taiwan Cement Gushan Ready-Mixed Plant 🏭). The event specially invited Minister of Environment Peng Qiming 🧍‍♂️, Mayor Chen Chi-mai 🙋‍♂️, Director Zhang Ruihui 🙋, and a large number of environmental volunteers and enthusiastic citizens to clean the mountains 🧹, hike 🚶‍♀️, and preserve clean mountains, forests and wilderness 🌳.

In today's mountain cleaning activity, volunteers and citizens 🙋‍♂️ hiked along the Chaishan New Trail 🚶‍♂️ while picking up trash discarded around the trail 🧹. Through the mountain cleaning activities, they felt the importance of ecological conservation. The results of today's mountain cleaning were about 12.5 kilograms, which means that the climbers have good environmental literacy and do not litter.

Director Zhang Ruihui emphasized that Chaishan is the back garden of Kaohsiung citizens and a characteristic tourist attraction of Kaohsiung. It is also an important leisure place for citizens. Everyone has his or her own Chaishan route and secret place. The rich natural ecology is worthy of in-depth exploration by the public. We hope that through this mountain cleaning activity, we can promote the concept of leaving no trace on the mountains and convey environmental education and sustainable development 🌱, and move towards a sustainable harbor and livable city with net zero 👍 by 2050 👣.
