To achieve the goal of "Saluting the Sea! Keeping Every Inch of Coastline Clean!", and to encourage everyone to cherish marine resources and protect the coastal ecosystem, the city mobilized businesses and NGOs in 2022, and in May of the same year, established its first Coastal Patrol Volunteer Team to protect the coastal environment. Now, nearly four years later, the Coastal Patrol Volunteer Team has grown to 12 teams. To effectively enhance the city's coastline inspection capacity, the professional skills of volunteers, and to reward the efforts of each patrol team, the "Kaohsiung City Government Environmental Protection Bureau Coastal Patrol Volunteer Team Management Plan" was revised in August 2025 to improve the management system of the Coastal Patrol Volunteer Team and protect the rights and interests of volunteers.
